Nieuwe Schoeps ! SuperCMIT ! Superrichtmicrofoon met AES42

Schoeps meldt zojuist binnenkort uit te komen met een superrichtmicrofoon met nooit eerder vertoonde eigenschappen. Waarom "super" ? De richtingsgevoeligheid is zeer groot! Het off-axis geluid heeft een demping van 15dB, zelfs in de zeer lage frequenties zonder het on-axis geluid te beïnvloeden. Dit lukt zelfs niet met een zeer lange richtmicrofoon, maar dus wel met de SuperCMIT. De SuperCMIT is dan ook een probleemoplosser daar waar het omgevingsgeluid ernstig in de weg staat van hetgeen je wilt opnemen. Nog nooit eerder kon een microfoon dit zo goed onderdrukken bij een zeer goed blijvend frontgeluid. De SuperCMIT is ideaal voor lastig filmgeluid, sport evenementen en verhoogd de 'reikwijdte' bij binnen-opnames. Het gebruikte principe is dat van twee "transducers" en het gepatenteerde ILLUSONIC sound processing.

De SuperCMIT kan gebruikt worden met een AES42 ingang zoals bijvoorbeeld RME of Sound Devices recorders hebben. Het is ook mogelijk een 'normale' AES3 ingang of S/P-DIF ingang te gebruiken met een beschikbare Schoeps PSD-2U Power converter.
De SuperCMIT heeft twee uitgangen: Een normale CMIT uitgang en een SuperCMIT uitgang. Beide gebruikmakend van de AES42.

Ter introductie worden er bij het WK-voetbal in Zuid-Africa 40 stuks gebruikt. Vanaf Mei is deze ook in Nederland leverbaar. Prijsinformatie volgt in April.

Updates en Bug fixes voor de Sound Devices SD788T recorder. Diverse zaken betreffen compatibiliteit en updates betreffende de CL9.

  • New - added support for 47.952kF / 23.976 workflow. It is now possible to select 23.976 when set to 47.952F sample rate.
  • New - slate shortcut in keyboard assign/logic in menu. Only works when a CL-8 or CL-9 is connected.

Sound Devices CL9 Lineair Fader Controller voor SD788T

Sound Devices komt uit met een 'fader-bak' voor de Sound Devices SD788T recorder. Niet slechts een remote control en faders, maar veel meer. Zo kun je de volumes bedienen met lange-slag faders. Je kunt een parametrische Equalizer per input bedienen. Pan-pot, L&R en AUX bedienen. Communicatie-inputs. Maar er is bijvoorbeeld nu ook een remote-metering wanneer je gebruik maakt van Wave Agent. In de maak: Sonosax SX62R Offroad Mixer/Recorder

Na een eerdere aankondiging van alweer lang geleden is Sonosax opnieuw begonnen met de prestigieuze SX-62R mixer/recorder. Na het uitkomen van de SX-M32 mxer, de SXR4 recorder en de zojuist verschenen SXES64 6ch. locatie-mixer is er eindelijk volop tijd om de SX-62R af te maken. De SX62R is een 6-kanaals portable mixer met een 8-kanaals recorder aan boord. De recorder gaat gebruik maken SSD (Solid State) en/of een CF Card. De mixer/recorder wordt opgesierd met een groot kleuren-touch-screen welke de bediening zal versnellen en vereenvoudigen. Tevens hebben ze gekozen voor een bij Sonosax nieuw ergonomisch concept waarbij de meeste belangrijke en veel gebruikte knopjes op de voorkant zitten en de meest belangrijke (XLR) aansluiting op de achterkant. De aansluitingen op de achterkant zijn "verzonken" zodat de mixer/recorder nog altijd op de achterkant geplaatst kan worden. De reocrder-functie wordt gebouwd rondom het inmiddels beproefde recordergedeelte zoals al in de SX-R4 en MiniR zat.

Op dit moment zijn er verder nog niet heel veel gegevens beschikbaar, maar verdere informatie volgt in de komende tijd. De recorder zou leverbaar worden in einde zomer van 2010. Noyz Boyz zelf rekent liever iets ruimer.... op uitkomen vóór 2011.

Rycote Invision Universal Studio Mount

Voortbordurend op het goedwerkende en daardoor populaire Invision lyre-concept, heeft Rycote nu ook een universele microfoonophanging voor 'grootmembraan'- microfoons. Microfoons met een diameter van 18- 55 mm zijn geschikt om in deze ophanging gebruikt te worden. De ophanging is zeer stil. Tot 12dB stiller dan de gebruikelijke elastiekophangingen. Dus tot 12dB minder ongewilde geluiden via de microfoon. De ophanging pakt hiermee een klassiek probleem goed aan.
De verende ophanging is bovendien van een nagenoeg onbreekbaar materiaal (Hytrel™) gemaakt en mede daardoor zeer duurzaam. Geen elastieken vervangen meer dus. Na zo'n 60 jaar is er eindelijk een moderne ophanging die gebruik maakt van materialen die passen bij de 21ste eeuw.

Sound Devices 552 Mixer firmware revision 1.10 provides the following new features and and bug fixes:

Nieuwe Software Nagra VI v2.10

Software release v2.10 voor de Nagra VI brengt een lange lijst met updates en verbeteringen. Hier te downloaden.

  • New: Addition of an output level adjustment “fader” for the internal audio mixer. It can be seen on the right side of each of the different mixer screens and can be modified using the arrow keys OR assigned to the headphone level potentiometer using the pot assign menu. Using an external USB keyboard the gain can also be altered with the UP/DN arrows. The gain can be adjusted from +12 to -48 dB. Two shortcuts have been implemented: UP+DN simultaneously will toggle from OFF to +12dB and L+R simultaneously will jump to the 0 dB position.>
  • New: Temporary re-assignment of the potentiometers to their analogue inputs by pressing the L and R arrows simultaneously has been implemented. This allows rapid access to “trim” an input sensitivity signal (When the pots are assigned as faders) without re-assigning the potentiometers. At the same time the headphone pot will also be temporarily returned to the headphone level if it has been assigned to another function.
  • New: The +48V phantom powering selection for the microphone inputs will be turned off automatically when the 2.8 mV/Pa sensitivity setting (Dynamic) is selected. It can subsequently be re-activated if required by simply reselecting it on the desired input in the input configuration screen.
  • New: Three additional user programmable keys have been attributed for use with an external USB keyboard.
    F4, F5 and F6 are programmable in the same way as the standard user keys. (Note: U1, U2 and U3 are already attributed to F1, F2 and F3 on an external keyboard).
  • New: The “Take number” will now be incremented automatically when recording wild tracks, which was not the case previously.
  • New: Recordings in non-readable formats (192 kHz) will now be displayed as entries in the directory even if they cannot be read by the Nagra VI.
  • New: Direct access for metadata modification of a specific index. The Metadata menu has been split into “Generic data” which is recorded to all indexes and “Current index data” allowing modification of the metadata of the current index to be modified. This also creates a new screen that can be assigned to one of the user keys for rapid access if desired.
  • New: The “False Start” flag can now be edited in the metadata modification mode.
  • New: Addition of the “NOTE” field in the main metadata screen allowing notes to be added more easily.
  • New: The file names are now updated in accordance with the metadata. Any change of metadata concerning the name will now be reflected in the file name.
  • The “-W and –F” for wild track and false start information has been moved to the Scene indication rather than behind the index number.

  • The indications “Dyn” and “Cond” have been restored to the microphone input type selection screen.

  • new - firmware revision number shows in boot up splash screen.
  • new - ability to mark a take as 'NG' (No Good). Typically used to identify a take as not the one to be used in post, although there may be sections of it which may be useful. Data stored in the iXML chunk.
  • new - STOP+LAMP shortcut for quick access to Circling or NG'ing the last recorded take.
  • new - add ability to change take status of any take from the take list.
  • new - addition of iXML (v1.52) parameters including <FALSE_START>, <NO_GOOD>
  • fixed - RF hash/noise no longer causes the recorder to incorrectly stop recording in ExtTC/cont - Auto Record mode.
    It will only stop when stationary TC code is detected.
  • change - When daily folders are selected, the daily folder is only created when record is first pressed. This prevents empty daily folders being generated if the 7-series is powered up every day but without recording anything. This also applies to the generation of top level and bottom level folders.
  • change - Drive "Erase" menus renamed to "Erase / Format".

Nieuw: Rycote Lavalier Foams

Rycote brengt een serie schuimkapjes uit voor lavalier microfoons. De plop/windkapjes zijn leverbaar in drie kleuren: Zwart, bruin en beige. De schuimkapjes zijn welliswaar niet voor ieder type speldmicrofoon geschikt maar de meeste zullen toch goed passen en een oplossing bieden tegen wind. De schuimpjes geven een verbetering tot 20dB afhankelijk van de omstandigheden. De afmetingen zijn :
Max Diameter - 15 mm
Lengte - 20 mm
Diameter boring - 4.5 mm
Diepte boring - 15 mm

(Bestelnr, voor zwart: Rycote Lavalier Foams (Black) 5 Pack (P/N 105501) )

Bovendien komt Rycote met een een foam voor kleinere diameters met een opening van min. 2,8mm verpakt in 2, 10 of 50 stuks welke alleen in zwart leverbaar zullen zijn.

Sonosax komt uit met de SX-ES64 Portable Mixer

Sonosax komt uit met de lang verwachte SX-ES64. Een compacte mixer met 6 inputs en 4 master outputs. De outputs zijn zowel pre als post fader / pan aan te sturen. Eventueel ook te leveren met A/D converters zodat je 4 digitale outputs hebt. De mixer kan uit batterijen gevoed en is daarmee zeer geschikt voor locatie opnames. Wanneer je iets zoekt voor filmgeluid, OB, portable studio's, muziekopnames of uiteraard diverse andere mobiele of stationaire situaties dan is de SX-ES64 uitermate geschikt. Uitgebreide monitoring, toonregeling (optioneel), direct outputs zijn features die de SX-ES64 sieren. De basisprijs van de SX-ES64 ligt op EUR5544,- ex. BTW.
