AudioRoot FEMTO

The AudioRoot FEMTO is a portable two-channel microphone preamplifier for location recording. It provides two electronically balanced XLR3 microphone inputs, 48V phantom power and a balanced stereo output through XLR5.

Each channel has an independent gain control covering +10 to +64 dB. The OLED screen displays audio levels and battery status. A high-pass filter reduces low-frequency signals below 80 Hz.

Power

The FEMTO runs on two 9V batteries or an external 12–18V supply. Connecting external power automatically disconnects the internal batteries. AudioRoot specifies approximately six hours of battery operation with two Schoeps CMC64Ug microphones.

The standard version has a Hirose power connection. The FEMTO-PSU is available separately for this version.

FEMTO and uPRE MKII

The FEMTO provides a balanced analogue output. The uPRE MKII adds digital output options, stereo linking and M/S decoding.
