DPA DPK4011 Piano Stereo Kit

The DPA DPK4011 Piano Stereo Kit contains two matched 4011ES cardioid condenser microphones with active side cables. The microphones are factory-matched within ±1 dB for frequency response and sensitivity across their entire frequency range. This set was previously called the 3511ES Stereo Kit.

The microphone body is just 35 mm long, allowing discreet placement inside an upright or grand piano with the lid open or closed. The cardioid pattern reduces pickup from other directions. A flat on-axis response and smooth off-axis response help preserve the tonal balance of both the instrument and sound arriving from surrounding sources.

Connection and Use

Connect the two XLR3M outputs to two microphone inputs providing P48 phantom power. The included stereo holder supports XY and ORTF configurations, while the separate mounts allow independent placement. Microphone positions can therefore be adjusted to suit the instrument, room and desired balance between direct and ambient sound.
