The Lectrosonics S1 is a lightweight RF-bias shotgun microphone featuring a true condenser capsule, designed for high-quality sound capture in film, television, broadcast and location recording environments. The RF-bias design ensures stable performance under varying environmental conditions, including humidity and temperature changes.

The microphone combines a precision line tube with an axially symmetrical polar pattern, delivering a consistent supercardioid pickup with uniform off-axis rejection and minimal coloration. This results in controlled and predictable performance in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The S1 offers a wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a slight high-frequency lift to enhance speech intelligibility. With a low self-noise of approximately 10 dBA and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 80 dB, it maintains detail even in low-level recording situations.

With a maximum SPL of 130 dB and a sensitivity of -34 dBV (with optional low-sensitivity mode at -54 dBV), the microphone is suitable for both subtle dialogue and louder sound sources. It operates on standard 48V phantom power with low current consumption of approximately 2 mA, making it suitable for mobile setups.

The housing is constructed from aluminum, measuring 215 mm in length with a 19 mm diameter, and weighs only 78 grams. This makes the microphone easy to handle, even during extended boom operation. The diameter is compatible with a wide range of suspension systems and wind protection solutions.
