The Ambient LockitSlate Take 2 (A80952) is a modular timecode slate combining a SMPTE timecode generator, LED timecode display and wireless ACN synchronisation. This standard version has POM clapsticks. Its electronic display section can be removed and used independently as a timecode display and interface.

Synchronisation within the Lockit network

ACN is Ambient's proprietary 2.4GHz network with fifteen selectable channels. It exchanges timecode, frame rate and user bits between Lockit devices. The LockitSlate Take 2 can send and receive Single Jam and operate as a C-Jam master. Ambient describes operation under active C-Jam synchronisation as Zero Drift. The timecode captured when the sticks close is also transmitted through ACN.

Removable display module

The modular construction allows the electronics to operate separately from the writing board and clapsticks. This provides a smaller standalone display for desktop or documentary use. Construction and dimensions follow the previous LockitSlate, allowing existing compatible accessories and custom faceplates to be reused.

USB and power

Connected to a computer, the slate functions as a MIDI timecode interface with LTC/MTC conversion. It operates on four AA cells and is optimised for rechargeable NiMH batteries. External power is available through USB-C. Choose the power source and batteries to suit the intended use.
