AudioRoot eSMART LiFe-256Wh

The AudioRoot eSMART LiFe-256Wh is a lithium iron phosphate battery with an energy capacity of 256 Wh and a nominal voltage of 12.8 V. It is housed in a Peli 1200 case with two integrated XLR4 connections for power and charging.

The integrated eSMART electronics communicate with compatible AudioRoot power distributors, allowing battery status to be monitored on the distributor during use. Weighing 3.8 kg, the LiFe-256Wh is the smaller of the two case-mounted batteries in the comparison below.

Battery Management and Telemetry

The Battery Management System records information including pack voltage, current draw, temperature, cycle count and identification data. This information is transmitted to a compatible eSMART power distributor.

The system provides protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuits and overheating. Internal cell balancing is also included.

Compatibility and Charging

AudioRoot confirms compatibility with eSMART BG-DU, BG-DU-REG, DUO, TRIO and K-ART power distributors. Compatible eSMART equipment can retrieve the battery information. When connecting other equipment, check its supported voltage range and the current drawn through each connection.

Compatible charging options are the AudioRoot eLC-PO4 with a charging current of 4 A and the eLC-PO10-S with a charging current of 10 A. Both are fanless LiFePO4 chargers with an XLR4M connection. The eLC-PO10-S provides a higher charging current for faster charging.

Comparison with Other AudioRoot Batteries

The LiFe-256Wh provides 256 Wh energy capacity in a Peli 1200 case. The LiFe-640Wh has the same nominal voltage of 12.8 V but offers greater energy capacity in a larger Peli iM2075 Storm Case. The four smaller lithium-ion models have a nominal voltage of 14.4 V; the neo versions also feature an integrated OLED display.

The case-mounted LiFe batteries use different connections and charging equipment from the smaller lithium-ion models. Also check your power system’s supported voltage range and permitted output current.
