AudioRoot eSMART LiFe-640Wh

The AudioRoot eSMART LiFe-640Wh is a rechargeable LiFePO4 battery with an energy capacity of 640 Wh, a capacity of 50 Ah and a nominal voltage of 12.8 V. It is housed in a Peli iM2075 Storm Case and supports eSMART communication for battery monitoring through a compatible power distributor.

This version provides greater energy capacity than the LiFe-256Wh and is designed for power systems using a larger battery in a separate case. Its two integrated XLR4 connections provide battery output and connection to a suitable charger.

Battery Monitoring and Protection

The integrated Battery Management System tracks parameters including battery voltage, current, temperature, cycle count and usage history. This information is transmitted to a compatible eSMART power distributor, allowing battery status to be monitored during operation.

The BMS provides internal cell balancing and protection against overcharging, excessive discharge, overcurrent, short circuits and excessive temperature.

AudioRoot specifies a cycle life of up to 1200 cycles at 85% remaining capacity. The stated total output of 30 A does not override the separate limit of 10 A per XLR4 output.

Compatibility and Charging

AudioRoot confirms compatibility with eSMART BG-DU, BG-DU-REG, DUO, TRIO and K-ART power distributors. Compatible eSMART equipment can retrieve the battery information. When connecting other equipment, check its supported voltage range and the current drawn through each connection.

For charging, use the AudioRoot eLC-PO10-S, a fanless LiFePO4 charger with a charging current of 10 A and an XLR4M connection. AudioRoot explicitly lists this charger for the eSMART LiFe-640Wh.

Comparison with Other AudioRoot Batteries

The LiFe-640Wh provides the greatest energy capacity of the six batteries below. The LiFe-256Wh also uses LiFePO4 chemistry and a nominal voltage of 12.8 V, but is smaller and lighter. The four lithium-ion models have a nominal voltage of 14.4 V and are more compact; the neo versions add an OLED display for reading battery information directly on the battery.

The models also differ in connections, permitted output current and charging equipment. Check the selected model’s specifications before using a different battery in your power system.
