DPA 4006C Compact Omnidirectional Microphone
The DPA 4006C is a compact omnidirectional condenser microphone for instrument recording, A-B stereo and capturing room ambience and audience sound. It combines the MMC4006 capsule with the compact MMP-C preamplifier. Measuring 64 mm in length and weighing 63 g, this version provides more placement flexibility where a longer microphone would be impractical or too conspicuous.
The 4006C can be mounted, suspended or concealed. DPA describes applications in theatres, opera houses, concert halls, houses of worship and film recording. Close-miking double bass, trumpet and piano are also documented applications. Its omnidirectional pattern captures both the direct source and the surrounding space.

Grids and Acoustic Adjustment
Interchangeable grids adapt the high-frequency response to the recording distance and sound field. Adjustment takes place acoustically at the capsule.

Compatibility and Expansion
The MMC4006 belongs to DPA's modular Pencil Microphones Series. The capsule can be combined with other preamplifiers from this modular series; the resulting specifications depend on the combination selected. The MMP-C is the compact version. DPA describes its sonic character as slightly softer than that of the other preamplifiers in the series.
Optional acoustic accessories include the UA0777 Nose Cone and APE30RS, APE40RS and APE50RS Acoustic Pressure Equalizers. The APE spheres modify the mid- and high-frequency response and increase directionality at higher frequencies.
