The Sound Devices A20-QuickDock is a quick-release adapter that allows the Astral ARX (A20-Nexus) receiver to be directly connected to Sound Devices 8-Series mixer/recorders (833, 888, Scorpio). This connection uses a multi-pin interface, eliminating the need for additional cabling for power, audio, and timecode.

Main Features

  • Quick attachment and detachment without tools
  • Power supplied via the 8-Series; TA4 and PoE+ inputs on the Astral ARX are disabled
  • Control of the Astral ARX via its front panel or web interface; 8-Series UI is not used
  • USB-A port remains active for pairing, keyboard input, firmware updates, and timecode sync
  • Ethernet ports on the Astral ARX remain available for control, not for Dante
