The Schoeps W 5 is a large foam windscreen for microphones with a diameter of 20 mm. It is primarily intended for omnidirectional pressure microphones when additional wind protection is needed. It can also be used as a pop screen.

With pressure-gradient microphones, such as cardioid and supercardioid microphones, the W 5 is suitable only for light wind. Its influence on sound and polar pattern is small, particularly at low frequencies.
