Schoeps BLC [161402]

The Schoeps BLC is a mounting plate for directional boundary-layer recording with a cardioid or supercardioid microphone. It can be placed at the edge of a stage to capture moving singers or actors without a visible microphone stand.

Main Features

• For CCM 4 and CCM 41, or MK 4 and MK 41 with an active KC cable.
• Diameter: 100 mm.
• Rubber ring underneath helps prevent sliding, rotation and damage to the supporting surface.

Application

When placed on a sufficiently large, rigid boundary, the boundary-layer effect improves the ratio of direct sound to diffuse room sound by 3 dB. This allows a greater recording distance while maintaining a comparable direct-to-room sound ratio.

Compatibility

Use with an MK capsule requires an active KC cable, such as the KC 5 [133005], and a compatible CMC microphone amplifier.
