The Schoeps CCM 2XS K is a compact omnidirectional condenser microphone with an integrated capsule and microphone amplifier. The K version has a fixed 5 meter cable with an XLR-3M connector for connection to a microphone input supplying phantom power.

For greater recording distances

The CCM 2XS K is equalized for a diffuse sound field, where most sound arrives as reflections from different directions. Its high-frequency rise for frontal sound produces a balanced overall frequency response under these conditions.

Applications include room recording and spaced AB stereo or Decca Tree arrangements at relatively large distances in reverberant spaces. Close to a sound source, the high-frequency emphasis becomes clearly audible and may produce an overly bright recording.
