The Schoeps MK 2S triple-pair contains three matched omnidirectional condenser microphone capsules from the Colette series. The capsules have a moderate acoustic high-frequency rise and are suitable for Decca Tree, A/B arrays and room recording.

The high-frequency rise compensates for treble loss associated with a greater proportion of diffuse sound. The MK 2S is often positioned near the reverberation radius: the distance at which direct and reflected sound have approximately equal levels.
