AudioRoot eHRS4-HSW-4W

The AudioRoot eHRS4-HSW-4W connects two eSMART batteries to an eSMART BG-DU or BG-DU-REG. It is designed for hotswapping: one battery can be replaced while the other continues powering the equipment.

Operation and Battery Telemetry

The connected distributor reads only one battery at a time. The battery that responds first to the SMBus request is selected. The cable does not combine telemetry from both batteries.

The battery with the higher voltage initially supplies the load. As the voltages equalise, both batteries may share the load approximately equally. During that sharing, the BG-DU may display current and power at approximately half the actual combined values. AudioRoot states that the runtime estimate remains correct in this situation.

The cable is therefore primarily intended for battery changes. Simultaneous operation from two batteries can produce inconsistent telemetry readings.
