The Schoeps MK 22 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone capsule with a unique "Open Cardioid" polar pattern. This capsule combines the benefits of the classic cardioid (MK 4) and the wide cardioid (MK 21), resulting in a mild directional sensitivity with a warm and natural sound. The frequency response is consistent across the entire spectrum, capturing both direct sound and laterally incoming sound and reflections without coloration.
