The Schoeps MK 22 [131007] is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone capsule from the Colette series with an open cardioid pickup pattern. This pattern sits between omni and cardioid and is often chosen when you want to retain natural spaciousness while keeping more control over side and rear pickup.

The MK 22 is intended for situations where both direct sound and reflections should remain natural, without the stronger proximity effect of a classic cardioid. This makes it useful for stereo applications, ensembles, and acoustically complex rooms.
