The Schoeps BL CCM 3 is a compact boundary layer microphone for permanent installation in a table or lectern. This special version of the CCM 2XS L includes a mounting flange for installing the microphone flush with the surface.

When correctly installed, the microphone picks up sound from the half-space above the tabletop. Placement at the boundary avoids the comb filtering caused by the difference in path length between direct sound and the reflection from that surface. Schoeps also identifies backup microphone use in speaker tables as an application.
