The Schoeps BLM 03 C is a miniature boundary layer microphone capsule for the modular Colette system. Its fixed 5 m cable connects to a separate CMC microphone amplifier. Together, these components form a complete microphone.

Measuring 80 mm in diameter and 8.6 mm in height, the BLM 03 C can be placed unobtrusively on a conference table, on an altar or inside a grand piano. The capsule picks up sound from the half-space above its mounting surface.

Placement

Place the BLM 03 C on a sufficiently large, sound-reflecting surface. A table may be sufficient for a panel discussion; Schoeps recommends a larger surface for most music recordings. Inside a grand piano, it can be used with the lid open or closed.
