The Schoeps CCM 4VXP L is a compact side-address cardioid condenser microphone designed for speech at distances below 10 cm. The capsule and microphone amplifier are integrated into one housing. The L version has a Lemo connection for the included detachable 5 meter K 5 LU cable.

For very close speech pickup

Strong low-frequency attenuation compensates for the increase in bass caused by proximity effect when the microphone is positioned close to the mouth. Sound arriving from greater distances is reproduced with less bass. This tuning supports speech intelligibility in noisy surroundings; at greater speaking distances, the voice sounds thinner.
