The Schoeps Mono-Set CMC 6, MK 2S combines the MK 2S omnidirectional capsule with the CMC 6 U microphone amplifier. The set forms a complete modular Colette microphone with a balanced XLR output and operates on P12 or P48 phantom power.

The MK 2S has a moderate high-frequency boost that compensates for high-frequency losses as the proportion of reflected sound increases. It is commonly used as a main or room microphone, particularly near the critical distance, where direct sound and the diffuse sound field contribute approximately equal levels. At high frequencies, microphone orientation affects the response.
