The Schoeps CCM 21 K is a compact wide cardioid condenser microphone with an integrated capsule and microphone amplifier. The K version has a fixed 5 meter cable with an XLR-3M connector for connection to a microphone input supplying phantom power.

Broad pickup with moderate directionality

The polar pattern lies between omnidirectional and cardioid. The CCM 21 K therefore combines broad coverage with some attenuation of sound arriving from the rear. Its directional response remains consistent across a broad frequency range.

The microphone is suitable for spot pickup and stereo arrangements with some spacing between microphones. Its directionality is insufficient to produce adequate left-to-right level differences for XY. In an MS setup, the CCM 21 can provide the Mid channel alongside a separate figure-8 microphone.
