Compact cardioid condenser microphone for speech recording at distances below 10 cm from the mouth. The CCM 4XP L is addressed from the front. Its capsule and microphone amplifier are integrated into one housing.

Proximity Effect and Placement

At very short recording distances, proximity effect boosts low frequencies. The strong low-frequency attenuation of the CCM 4XP compensates for this. More distant sound does not receive that proximity boost and is therefore recorded with reduced bass.

This version is intended for placement very close to the speaker, rather than general recording at greater distances.
