The Schoeps MK 5 matched pair [131019mp] consists of two identical capsules from the Colette series, each with a switchable directional characteristic: omnidirectional or cardioid. The desired pattern is selected via a mechanical switch on the capsule. In omni mode, it functions as a true pressure transducer; in cardioid mode, as a pressure gradient transducer.

This combination of two fundamentally different principles in a single housing offers great flexibility. The matched pair configuration ensures precise channel balance for stereo recordings.
