The Schoeps MSTC 74 is an ORTF stereo microphone with two matched MK 4 cardioid capsules mounted on a T-shaped MSTC 7 microphone amplifier. The 170 mm capsule spacing and 110° angle are fixed, allowing quick and repeatable setup.

The MSTC 74 is suitable as a main stereo microphone for ensembles and choirs or as a stereo spot microphone. The ORTF arrangement combines arrival-time and level differences between the two channels to produce a spacious stereo image with clear localization of sound sources.

Connection

The included AK SU/2U breakout cable splits the XLR5 output into two XLR3M connections. Connect these to two microphone inputs supplying suitable phantom power.
