AudioRoot eSMART Li-48neo

The AudioRoot eSMART Li-48neo is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a nominal voltage of 14.4 V and an energy capacity of 48 Wh. It combines SMBus communication with an integrated OLED display, allowing battery information to be read on compatible equipment or directly on the battery.

The OLED display is particularly useful when your equipment or power distributor does not support SMBus. Pack voltage, current draw and estimated remaining runtime can then be monitored on the battery itself. Weighing 240 g and measuring 85.1 × 77.2 × 22.6 mm, the Li-48neo is the smaller battery in the neo series.

OLED Display and Battery Monitoring

Shake the disconnected battery to activate its display. During charging or discharging, the screen can show live battery information. The manufacturer specifies a current threshold of 50 mA for this function.

The OLED remains off when the battery is connected to SMBus-compatible equipment. In that configuration, the connected device retrieves and displays the battery information. Display operation is independent of power delivery: an inactive screen does not mean that the battery is not supplying power.

The manufacturer specifies at least 70% remaining capacity after 500 cycles when using the prescribed standard charging and discharging methods, including a 30-minute rest after each charge and discharge.

Compatibility and Charging

This battery is compatible with the AudioRoot eSMART DUO power distributor. Use a suitable battery cable and check that the connected equipment supports the complete 10–16.8 V operating range.

Charging options include the AudioRoot eSMART MONO CHARGER with one charging bay, the eSMART DUAL CHARGER with two independent charging bays or the eSMART QUAD CHARGER for four batteries simultaneously.

The AudioRoot eSMART TINY-C is a compact USB-C charger. It requires a separate USB-C PPS power supply supporting 5–20 V PPS and rated at least 65 W.

Comparison with Other AudioRoot Batteries

The Li-48neo combines 48 Wh energy capacity with an integrated OLED display. The Li-96neo offers the same monitoring functions with greater energy capacity and a higher maximum continuous discharge current. The Li-49Wh and Li-98Wh transmit battery information to compatible equipment via SMBus. The LiFe models are larger LiFePO4 batteries housed in Peli cases, with a nominal voltage of 12.8 V.

The models also differ in connections, permitted output current and charging equipment. Check the selected model's specifications before using a different battery in your power system.
