The Schoeps MK 2S [131011] is an omnidirectional condenser microphone capsule from the Colette series, designed as a true pressure transducer. This variant features a moderate high-frequency response elevation intended to compensate HF losses as the diffuse (reverberant) sound contribution increases around the reverberation radius.

The MK 2S sits between the MK 2 and MK 2XS: it preserves the stable behaviour of a true omni while providing a more balanced overall result at medium recording distance. In practice it is often chosen for A/B arrays, Decca Tree setups and as a room microphone.
