The Schoeps Desert Island Set MK 41 combines two MK 41 supercardioid capsules with two compact CMC 1 U microphone amplifiers. The capsules are matched and supplied with a matching certificate. The set is stored in a Peli Case 1010 with a fitted insert.

The MK 41 has a highly directional pickup pattern that changes little with frequency. This makes the microphones suitable for focused instrument and speech recording, spot microphone applications and stereo arrays requiring less room pickup. A small rear lobe means sound arriving directly from behind remains audible; maximum rejection occurs at approximately 125° from the forward microphone axis.
