The Schoeps Desert Island Set MK 2XS combines two MK 2XS omnidirectional capsules with two compact CMC 1 U microphone amplifiers. The capsules are matched and supplied with a matching certificate. The set is stored in a compact Peli Case with a fitted insert.

The MK 2XS features diffuse-field equalization and is intended for recording where reflected sound predominates. Its high-frequency boost compensates for high-frequency losses in the diffuse sound field, such as in room recording beyond the critical distance. Close to the sound source, this high-frequency emphasis remains clearly audible.
