The Schoeps Desert Island Set MK 4 combines two MK 4 cardioid capsules with two compact CMC 1 U microphone amplifiers. The capsules are matched and supplied with a matching certificate. The set is stored in a Peli Case 1010 with a fitted insert.

The cardioid polar pattern favors sound from the front while attenuating sound from the rear. The microphones are suitable for instruments, vocals and speech, either individually or in a stereo array. The modular Colette design allows the capsules to be exchanged for different pickup patterns.

Use as a stereo pair

The microphones can be arranged for XY stereo or for ORTF with 17 cm capsule spacing and an included angle of 110°. The array and its placement determine how the ensemble and room are represented. A microphone stand and stereo bar are not included.
