The Schoeps MK 2H is an omnidirectional condenser microphone capsule from the modular Colette series. A gentle acoustic response elevation above approximately 6 kHz compensates for high-frequency loss when reflected sound contributes more strongly to the recording. A microphone amplifier is not included.

Applications

The MK 2H suits instrument and orchestral recording in spaces with balanced reverberation. It is intended for medium recording distances, where direct and reflected sound contribute in approximately equal amounts.

With multiple microphones, the capsule can be used for A/B stereo and Decca Tree arrangements. Although it is omnidirectional, its orientation still matters at high frequencies.
